Abstract
Osteoporosis is a decreased bone density disease. It has become one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in the world wide. Due to the increase in life expectancy for elderly populations, there will be need to intervene surgically for the fragile spine. Multiple strategies are needed to be considered and implemented to decrease the hardware failure rate and revision surgeries.
Biography
Waleed Awwad, Professor and consultant spine and scoliosis surgeon, completed his Orthopedic training and orthopedic spine and scoliosis fellowship at McGill University, currently the he is the head of orthopedic surgery department at King Saud University medical city and professor of orthopedics.
