Spine Conferences

The spinal cord serves as a conduit for messages from the brain to the body and vice versa.  When something interferes with the function or structure of the spinal cord, it causes damage.  This can include overstretching the nerves as a result of a medical ailment or trauma, a bump, the vertebral bone pressing against the cord, a shock wave, electrocution, tumours, infection, poison, lack of oxygen (ischemia), and nerve cutting or ripping. Spine stability is required to execute the other basic biomechanical functions in addition to safeguarding the spinal cord and nerve roots. The purpose of the spinal system is to allow movement between body components as well as to transport burdens.
